July 21, 2002
Hi everyone,
I know it's been a long time since I've written, but my partner (Ron Sheppard)
and I have been busy getting our A/ND together. We're getting there
and hope
to be on the track for licensing and shakedown runs in August
and plan to make
at least one points meet (Columbus - Sept. 20-22).
I haven't forgotten about the A/FND project and have (finally) gotten a letter
together to mail to NHRA. You can find it at either of these addresses:
http://afnd.net/letter_july-02.doc
(this is in Microsoft Word format)
http://afnd.net/letter_july-02.txt
(this is in plain text and is easier to read + being better for cut-and-paste)
Also, there is the list of those that have signed the online petition:
http://afnd.net/afnd_petition_july-02.doc
http://afnd.net/afnd_petition_july-02.txt
I'm going to be mailing a hardcopy of the letter and a copy of the petition
+
signatures to Curt LaShure (he's the head of Comp Eliminator rules)
at NHRA's
Division 1 office. I'm also considering mailing them to IHRA,
although it's
extremely unlikely they'd have an interest.
If I do compose a letter for IHRA
I'll let everyone know.
I'm letting you all know that the letter is about to be sent to NHRA.
NOW IS
THE TIME for you all to help make this happen.
PLEASE send your version of
this letter to NHRA.
The best approach would be to use my letter as a guide
and compose one
in your own words, however if you just want to copy mine and
sign it,
that'll be ok too. According to what I've read and been told,
NHRA
has their main rules meeting at Indy (over Labor day weekend).
I think that
now is the right time to bring our request to their attention.
If you have a
problem getting the letter from the website, please let me know.
I'll be glad
to email the file directly to you or I can mail a printed version to you
if
you send me your mailing address.
Please let me know if you do send a letter
to NHRA.
The address to send to is:
Curt LaShure
c/o NHRA Northeast Division Office
366 Easton Rd
Warrington, PA 18976
I suppose you could FAX it to them too: 215-343-0159
