There seems to be a general consensus that the chassis rules as they exist for Jr/Fuel (GoodGuys) - A/NostalgiaDragster (NHRA) are acceptable. Also generally accepted are the individual stack fuel injectors, single point-style mags and zoomies.
The different opinions are primarily about engine combinations & weight/weight breaks.

Final Comments = I run a Good Guys A/FD with a Bln Alky Donavan. We have
alot of fun on a limited budget. It still cost alot of money. I ran a A/FD
in the 70's with a guy named Bob Blair driving it was fun then running
NHRA but today there is constant change you build a car one year, Pro
Stock Truck and then they drop the class. Didn't like the class but felt
bad for the guys that ran one. I think there is lots of places to run a
FED as a hobby. You may get a few cars to run but I don't think many will
spend the kind of money it take to be competitive in NHRA. The guys that
run Comp Elim run on a very good budget. Come run with us we have a bunch
on good racer and have fun. I had Tuttle build my car a couple of years
ago, great car. Just some thoughts, good luck. Frank Genco

Final Comments = I have never run a car limited by weight such as Jr.
Fuel, so I can't comment. Is there really a need to have a fuel pump limit
on an injected car?
I am undecided about the tire size, (14" max) but its for sure, they
should be something available from more then one manufacture. There seems
to be lots of 12-14" wide tires, for 15" diameter wheels. Could those
wheels be used in this class?

Final Comments = The answer to the last question should be "maybe". I
don't like the idea of running NHRA events, if they weren't the only game
in town your probably wouldn't either. Here on the west coast we have
PRo-nitro, GoodGuys and soon Banning. I would rather run this combo in one
or all of those. Also, I don't think just any after market head should be
used. I think it should be limited, excluding the newer sbc head 18 degree
and the like.

date limit (eg. 1974). Allow high gear or trans (max. 2 speed). Keep it
simple...single mag, single nozzle. Keep it period correct with provisions
for safety. Keep it close to VRA injected A/Fuel (less '90s technology
like billet heads/blocks etc.)to provide for "cross over" of competitors.

Final Comments = To make this class real you have to decide on a number of
"spec" items. the usual tire, fuel pump, annd some others like: Cylinder
heads, what style of clutch will be accepted (single stage vs multi-stage).
These are just some ideas but the rules have to remain stable and as cost
concious as possible. the idea for this class is to make it as a ffordable as
you can. I believe that altereds should be able to run in this class as long
as they meet all the rules and their chassis is certified. I think this will
increase the participation in the calss and increase fan appeal with dragsters
running aganst altereds.

make it a smart tuners race. That way you can save your $2000 to $5000 and
spend it on something else. Stack injectors only with a max Dia.( 2.5?) Iron
block with as cast aluminum off the shelf heads, with a min amount of nitro at
30% that way more cars will be entered, One engine per race. That way if you
blow it up your out and you will be more conservative. FED's only, zoomies
only. No computers, single point style mag ( max super mag 4). 200" max wheel
base, new ND's don't even look like an early FED. Trans brake only no delay
boxes ( make it a Drivers race also.)

good amount of people into the class without making huge changes and spending
tons of money. Right now I don't think there are too many people with FEDs

down.
I'm the same way about tires.I don't know enough about the cost and
availability of various tire/wheel combinations to suggest a particular
width limit, but we obviously need a limit.
I like the idea of any three speed transmission, as another way to hold
costs down and to allow same-brand engines/transmissions.
Along with data recorders, I'd do away with trans-brakes, delay boxes
and all other such gizmos, except a pre-set only rev limiter for safety.
The one-engine rule is a good one, as is the 30 percent nitro limit and
the no wings rule.

Final Comments = We used to run B/D and B/FD and loved it. I'd love to see
some controls put on the class and maintained. Remember when "econo" dragster
stood for economy? Invariably the class always strays from its original intent
with rule changes. After several rule changes it is money that is winning
races not ability. It's a great idea Stu, I wish you much luck. Bob
